



The Lunch — A Letter to America is a documentary that travels across the United States during the final week of the presidential campaign, letting reality write itself as it happens.
A film that observes America from its everyday margins, from the places of invisible labor and minimal gestures, where politics is not a discourse but a lived condition.
Set amidst diners, endless roads, cities, and rural landscapes of vulnerable beauty, the film questions what remains when grand ideological narratives dissolve into bodies, silences, and habits. The Lunch chooses listening as its primary act: to the noises, the pauses, the underlying tensions that define a country divided yet bound by unseen threads.
Born from a real-life journey in the fall of 2024, the project unfolds like a human map crisscrossed by chance encounters and invisible connections. Through Eduardo, a Mexican chef who arrived in the United States by crossing the desert, and Robert, a staunch Trumpist and anti-immigration voter, the film connects lives unaware of their connection, yet they are so in a structural, daily, and inevitable way.
The film was selected to compete in the Doc@PÖFF International Competition at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn. Curator Marianna Kaat called it "a rare cinematic achievement," capable of combining social urgency and artistic audacity, and speaking to the present with global resonance.
Today, as the film is being handed over to Truly Good and is meeting with the international market to finalize its global distribution, The Lunch continues to remain true to its nature: a film in which reality seems pre-written, or a film in which reality has done everything to appear as if it were. Ultimately, it doesn't matter: stories continue to be written by the hands of the world, while the hands of the voiceless prepare food.

A film belongs to those who desire it, those who need it, those who are willing to risk it for its existence. White Box Studio is open to anyone who wants to see a vision, a reading of the world, a desire come to fruition. A participation fee accessible to all, no rhetoric of giving: an economic and cultural pact between equals. It's a way to produce fragile, radical, necessary works. Works that the market can't choose, but the public, which becomes a producer, a cultural actor, an entrepreneur of meaning, can.
