The Books section was created as an online library dedicated to the catalogues, exhibitions and editorial experiments produced by White Box Studio.

This is not a neutral archive, but a living place, constantly under construction, where books are natural extensions of our visual and narrative work.
The Books section was conceived as an online bookstore dedicated to catalogues, exhibitions, and editorial experiments produced by White Box Studio. It is not a neutral archive, but a living space in continuous formation, where books function as organic continuations of our visual and storytelling practice.
Here coexist titles such as Inventario Stagionale 17, Americanada, New York and Other Metaphors, Inventario Stagionale 25 by Gianluca Vassallo, and Yo Soy Feliz by Mercedes Corveddu: books that do not merely document, but interrogate reality, allow processes to settle, and return time to the images and experiences that generated them. Each publication is conceived as an autonomous field of meaning, where photography, text, and editorial design enter into dialogue without hierarchies.
This library gathers what has been, but above all what is yet to come. It will host all the books we will publish in the future: editions connected to exhibitions, films, field research, personal and collective drifts. Volumes meant to be read, looked at, inhabited. Objects that do not seek the speed of contemporaneity, but the duration of a relationship.
For us, publishing means giving a stable form to visual thought—leaving traces that can continue to work over time, outside the exhibition space, allowing the full reading of what light itself writes.

The books presented here are to be understood as free from the obligation of the traditional publishing relationship—the natural filter between thought and the public—since they are an extension of an artistic practice that asks for no mediation whatsoever.

A photo book usually ends up decorating a reception room. We do everything we can to ruin this plan.

We prefer those who open them with dirty hands, those who sneeze on the endpapers, those who leave them open on the table at the mercy of cats, birds, and the damp that swells their pages. Those who fold the corners, who rest their cup on them, who draw moustaches on portraits and lend them knowing they won’t come back. Don’t buy books to keep them pristine a year from now—for that, there are ornaments. Or the spines of encyclopedias Berlusconi used to keep behind him. Fuck.
