Or: America and the Wall Street Monkey

To celebrate White Box Studio's 10th anniversary, a new art gallery has opened in the heart of San Teodoro, in the same building that was the first headquarters of the collective founded by Gianluca Vassallo and, before that, his parents' workplace: a symbolic space that began a journey that has brought the studio's photography worldwide.

This catalogue accompanies the inaugural exhibition AMERICANADA, a deliberately uncurated project: an open dialogue between author and work, in which the photographic production process is part of the work itself and the images become empirical evidence of what the work seeks to demonstrate.

The exhibition features 133 photographs and 1 video. The limited-edition, 60-page catalog includes the full text written by Gianluca Vassallo to guide visitors through the exhibition: a personal and political reflection on America, the West, and chance as a method, transforming the exhibition into a possible film, written by what we observe and what we are.
